Joel Pennington Greetings, I have the C910 on my home PC and my office MacBook Pro. I’m running Logitech Vid on each computer, but I’m only able to see the video on my home PC. On my MacBook Pro I see a message in the Logitech Vid app saying “Waiting for video this should only take a moment”.

I do however see myself in the lower right (i.e. The video being sent from my MacBook Pro). Are there compatibility issues between Mac and PC? I tried using Skype and video is displayed on each end which leads me to believe this is an issue with Logitech Vid. Thanks for your help, Joel. Tim Leehane Hi XST, I really appreciate the feedback. In fact, it’s feedback from passionate Logitech customers like you that inspired us to add Mac support to the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910!

While I cannot comment on future products, I can assure you that we will seriously evaluate Mac support for all our new cameras moving forward. Regarding your second question, the Logitech HD Pro Webccam C910 will provide great quality video in virtually every major video calling service – such as Skype, iChat, FaceTime, etc. You will only get HD resolution, however, when using video calling software that supports HD on the Mac.

As of right now, Logitech Vid HD is the only major video calling service to provide HD video calls on the Mac. We hope that other services will follow our lead and add HD video for the Mac soon! Tim Leehane Hi Lou, Thanks for checking on your version of Adobe Flash–that’s always the first thing to check out. There are a few known issues with the Adobe Flash Player and external webcam support on the Mac. See if any of these will solve your issue.

The newest version of Skype for Mac (version 5.0) blocks all webcams (including embedded webcams) from being accessed by the Adobe Flash Player. If Skype is running, you will need to quit Skype before trying to use the Adobe Flash Player with a webcam. Here’s a link to an article that discusses the issue in more detail: 2. The Google Voice and Video Chat Plug-in seems to also stop all webcams from working with Adobe Flash Player. To resolve this issue, you need to uninstall the Google Voice and Video Chat Plug in. I couldn’t find an official document about this issue, but it seems to be common, as evident by this forum discussion on the Google forums: To uninstall the Google Voice and Video Chat Plug-in, run the uninstaller located at: - Macintosh HD - Application Support - Google - Googlevoiceandvideochat uninstall If none of these known issues are helpful, I recommend contacting Adobe to find out if there are other known issues with webcams.
