Just found graphic in the Kef Egg instruction manual showing a generic sub connected to the Eggs via a cable with what looks like a 3.5mm headphone jack into the Egg and 2 x RCA connectors for the sub. Could this be correct?

Yes, plug the small end of this cable into the 'SUB' output on the back of the Egg Wireless Digital Music System and the large end into the 'LINE INPUT' sockets on the back of the Kube-1 subwoofer. (Do not plug it into the 'AUX' socket on the Egg.) Make sure the small end is a stereo 3.5 mm plug (two black bands).
