I'm aware that Haswell support is sketchy right now (especially for Asus boards), but that didn't stop me! I went ahead and built a new rig anyways. The main guts:.

Maximus VI Gene. Core i7-4670K. Asus GTX 670. 16GB RAM I had no problems creating a 10.9 DP4 installer using myHack and installing to my SSD.

The only flag I initially required was 'GraphicsEnabler=No' since the GTX 670 is natively supported. After installation, I ran into two problems. First: I require the use of the USB drive for booting, even after installing myHack to my SSD. I can't boot without using -x. Secondly: Animations and timers are WAY too fast. The spinning gear at boot up spins at something like 500FPS and many other things like progress bars are also similarly as fast. The timer that appears on the shutdown menu counts down from 60s to 0 in about 12 seconds.

It makes inputting characters from my keyboard almost impossible. It's like running at light speed or something. This problem occurs in the installer also, which leads me to believe it's a BIOS or possibly a kext issue. I tried applying the DP7 update yesterday, though it didn't solve anything.

I'm wondering if anyone had a clue what was going on here. Have you had any luck getting things to work on the Asus board? As i am thinking of getting the Maximus VI Impact mITX Not much luck yet. The lastest versions of Chimera and Chameleon won't boot on my system. I don't know why.

Only the version of Chameleon bundled with myHack is working. I can create the installer for Mavericks and 10.8.5 no problem and even install them to my system. However, I have the fast timer problem. And updating the bootloader causes my system not to boot. Edit: I've been reading about the Asus Z87-Deluxe and have a few ideas to try out. Making sure the BIOS is fully updated and check out MBR support. I also Have Similar board: Asus Impact VI.

The only time i experienced what you're describing is when my system has been overclocked. I also can only boot from USB and it's because of ASUS bios from what ive read. The only way i can install is via myhackinstaller for mavericks, or 10.8.5 via tmacx86 method. Ive updated to latest bios.same issue.I'm thinking we need a patched bios for these boards? HAve you got all your onboard devices working already?

Ie pan/wifi/audio etc? That is when you can actually boot. I also Have Similar board: Asus Impact VI.

I'm having trouble installing many of my devices. I was able to get my LAN working by installing IntelE1000e.kext. VoodooHDA 2.8.4 doesn't work at all for sound.

I also cannot see any other hard drive that's plugged into my motherboard, even after installing 3rdPartySATA. Still having a major problem with the timers. Edit: USB3 ports working out of the box, no kexts or edits required.

I solved my problem with the timers. I downloaded and extracted a file called 'boot' from the Chameleon 2.2 r2262 installer using Pacifist.

I then copied 'boot' it to the root of my hard drive. Running the the actual Chameleon installer did not work for me.

I was able to copy the boot file to the myHack USB installer and have it work there too! The hard drive detection problem I mentioned above is gone.

My CPU is finally detected as a Core i5 @ 3.42GHz, which is correct. Still experimenting with getting audio working. VoodooHDA doesn't seem to be working, but I'm not far into my testing. I may need to create and patch a DSDT, but I'm not sure. Might need to just patch AppleHDA.

I believe I still need NullCPUPowerManagement.kext. I will do some testing with and without it. I used a MacPro5,1 SMBIOS definition without any trouble.

No idea if that's OK or if that will change when I remove NullCPU. USB3 working right out of the box. All ports are working 100%! I can even install OSX from a USB3 port without any problems. Don't need NullCPUPowerManagement unless you get Kernel Panics And, the iMac5,1 definition can cause Kernel Panic issues with AppleTyMCEDriver.kext.

It is best to use a different system definition. As for your audio, I am unsure what a ROG SupremeFX is. Google fails me to find a hackintosh driver. You might be SOL on the audio card. I could be wrong, though I'll be testing the bare minimum of kexts/configuration that are needed today. I usually delete AppleTyMCE since I do use a Mac Pro definition.

SupremeFX III is a rebranded ALC1150, so it should be compatible with some amount of work. Hi Hi DK-RendeR, great work you are doing! Did you have any luck getting sound/wifi to work? I just built a similar system, your experience has been great help to me, thank you Maximus VI Impact GTX760 i7-4770 I don't have audio working yet, but Mirone has been creating a modified AppleHDA.kext with a method to install. I don't think anyone with an Asus Maximus board has actually tried it yet. I plan to install it, but I'm extremely busy.

Wifi works, but only because I'm using an official Apple Wifi card (Atheros AR5BXB92.) I'm using a separate PCIE to mPCIE adapter to make it work. I have ordered a different card (Atheros AR9280 AR5BH92) to plug into the combo card that comes with the motherboard. It should be compatible. I'll be posting a guide on how to install 10.8.5 or Mavericks as soon as I can get everything working stable. Hi Hi DK-RendeR, great work you are doing! I just built a similar system, your experience has been great help to me, thank you Maximus VI Impact GTX760 i7-4770 (sorry for this double post) I have audio working, thanks to Mirone. As far as I know, everything on the board is working 100%, including sleep and power management functions. This board is actually very compatible with 10.8.5. I'm working on an installation guide that I will be posting soon.
