I checked the trash and it wasn't there either. Is it possible to delete your Macintosh HD? Will that affect anything else on my computer? (Do I NOT have a hard drive now???) AH.

Yup, the old hard drive, so does everything you might save or the program might save, again the hard drive.Macintosh is easy to use, we can agree on that. It does not mean you should ever not try and learn stuff. In fact Apple.com has lots of stuff on stuff. It is easy to find and it is easy to double click on to get it to play.

One, keep a diary on when it crashes, time and day of week, there may be a pattern and it could be it is something else that has absolutely nothing to do with your computer. If you are on wifi, again keep a list of times it goes down. You would be surprised at how often there is a problem with your cable modem and your router. My cable modem hiccups and my router needs to be reset. Then there are some problem sites where Safari is not welcome, keep a list of the sites.Last but not least, it could actually be your computer.
If there is no pattern, if you have checked to make sure your wifi is not kicking you off, and all the rest is negative then you look at the safari and the OS. I don't know how long you have had the computer, but I make it a habit to reload the OS (operating System) once a year, and then reload all the extra programs I own after that. I also do a fresh install of the OS when I upgrade.
