Roxio Secure Burn User Guide For Mac
I have a very interesting error. I am using a Macbook Pro 15', Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.33 Ghz, 2Gb Ram and OS 10.5.6 Today I downloaded and installed Toast 10 plus the T10 HDBD Plug-in.
My idea was, to burn clips I made with my JVC camera on a DVD, playable in a Sony Blu-Ray player. The clips are in.TOD format. I use the option Video / Blu-ray video / Encoding automatic and Video Quality 'Best'. Medium to write to is set to DVD. ( all clips together 600 Mb ) I tried writing to my internal, and external Sony dvd writer.
I get the following error, during the encoding of the files: ' Could not record to disk because of Mac OS error Result Code = -18768 ' Now my idea was, to save the disk as disk image. I get the same error as when I try to write to disk. Lucky, when I restart the proces a couple of times, it is proceeding further, and further, everytime I restart the ' save as disk image' After 10 re-tries, it finally finishes the image. When I then mount the image in toast, and burn it to DVD, it is working great on my sony blu-ray player. Including the menu, written by Toast. What is the problem.

Thanks, Marc Support for.TOD files was never specifically added to Toast, however since those files are essentially MPEG-2 transport streams with Dolby Digital audio I can understand how Toast may try to parse the file as opposed to telling you that the file format is not supported.
Unfortunately there is no immediate solution as that file format is not officially supported, but I will get my hands on one of the Everio HDD-based cameras in the near future. I am having a similar problem.

I just purchased the new Panasonic HMC-150 video camera, and read on multiple blogs that Toast 10 was the best way of archiving AVCHD footage. So, I went out and got Toast 10, and even upgraded to the HD/BD Plug-in. Unfortunately, I am unable to burn discs using the AVCHD Archive (which was the whole point of going out and getting Toast 10 in the first place).
When I choose AVCHD Archive, it takes an abnormally long time preparing. Once I get through that wait, Toast tells me how many discs the footage is going to span over. Once I hit Okay, it begins to encode, but that only lasts for about for about 5 min before it quits and sends me this error message: I can burn music, data, video TS, etc. Without any problem, but the main reason I got Toast 10 is for the AVCHD Archive and I'm starting to get really frustrated. Any help or ideas? Hello ' Davemoppert', It is an interesting error., although I am trying to write.TOD files to Blu-Ray format on a DVD, it looks it generates the same error. What I do, is the following: A add the files to be recorded.
Next I tell Toast, to Save to Disk-Image. Every time it finished encoding a file, Toast will crash. In that sys error screen click ' OK', and tell Toast to Save to Disk Image again. It looks like Toast is Caching everything, so it will encode the next file. If you have 10 Files, you have to restart the ' Save to Disk-Image' 10 times, and then it will multiplex the whole and finish the Image. Next you can write your image to a disk.

I try to archive anything over 4 Gig of video is when it happen to me. I have been working with support and nothing has worked so far. The only reason I bout the Imac and Toast 10 was for AVCHD archiving and movie editing. So far it has been a big waste of money! Has anyone been dealing with the tech support folks on this issue besides me.
They act like they don't know what is going on with this error and avchd archive issue. It is an obvious problem based on what has been stated on these forums and they have not stated any timeline for fixing the issue. Roxio's support is trying to figure it out. Apple support are scratching their heads and check out Roxio's discussion groups.

Xlr8yourmac.com FAQ section DVD provides only a link to a Mac OS 9.x iTunes burn support for the Pioneer DVR-K06, so not related to my issue. I looked for PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K06 firmware updates. There are NO firmware updates on the pioneer web site for Mac OS. Apple support does not list any firmware updates for the Pioneer internal drive either. Their support had to Google error result code '-18768' in order to find out what it is. Eventually they ended up in your Toast 10's discussion groups. For the record, I'm using Sony's Accucore DVD +RW as my media.
I can try Verbatim, but if Toast 10 Platinum Pro does not work with Sony DVDs, what can I say.Disk burning on the same Sony media works with iMovie and iDVD, so it's not hardware related. The slight variations to resolving the issue, as per your support article:, such as File - Save As Disc Image instead of burning to disc produced the same -18768 error.
Performed no other activities during burning that could disrupt encoding or multiplexing. No bad connections either. Please advise.

This has been a frustrating experience. Toast 10 will get through the process the furthest, but stops with the Mac OS error 18768. Toast 9 hangs early in the encoding process in the third file and does not go further.
Avid DVD 5.7 will not accept AC3 files made after June 2, 2009. It does however make a workable bluray disc. (just no audio for several of the important movie files) Avid DVD 6.1 crashes constantly and is unusable. Any one have any suggestions. I have spent a lot of money and time to try and make a HD movie visible on anything other than my computer. There should not be any encoding for your MPEG 2 and AC3 streams. Go to the custom encoder settings window and choose Never re-encode. See if that resolves the problem. Once a larger clip requiring additional disks was archived the dreaded -186768 error appeared before the first disk was written. After updating Mac OSX from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8 which just came out this month. The problem was corrected.
The archive now spans to multiple disks and no error -18768.
Is there a way to use Secure burn, or NXT 4 pro, to burn a password protected cd that doesn't have all the extraneous stuff on the disc? I only want to have the encrypted file shown in the file explorer when the disc is selected, and not all the extra crap that shows up when you normally burn the cd with secure burn (ie the autorun stuff, multiple other folders, icon files, etc). The issue is that I am trying to create a password protected CD with a file on it for foreign customers, and if the autorun feature is blocked by a corporate IT policy, the only way to see the file is to open the file explorer for the disc, and then sort through all the other files and folders that are put on the CD automatically in order to find the SecureBurnReader.exe file. When dealing with customers that do not speak English, or do not speak it well, it is difficult to try and explain to them how to find the file in order to view it. But how do you propose to decrypt the file without the SecureBurnReader.exe file? Something has to decrypt the file, and since SecureBurn encrypted it, you need the reader file to decrypt it. The password isn't any good without the application to use it, it's not something built into Windows File Explorer.

Sure, you could create a disc with just the encrypted file (I see an obvious two step approach) but that's what your customer will have, an encrypted file with no way to decrypt it. Let me know if I'm missing something.
