This program offers only the standard array of file-splitting features and suffers from some performance flaws. Scissors' intuitive interface makes it simple to browse for files, specify the output filename, and choose the file's destination.
Unlike its competitors, Scissors doesn't offer preset sizes or let you choose the number of split files you want to create. Instead, it supports any user-specified size. The splitting process went quickly in our tests, but we weren't so successful in recombining split files. Although the program created a self-uniting batch file, it didn't work on every test machine. What's more, when split files were joined using the program, the resulting file didn't have its original extension. Scissors doesn't support drag and drop or other shortcuts for adding files. Though it works great as a splitter, it doesn't make the grade when it comes to putting files back together again.
Users will have no problem finding a more reliable file splitter, including numerous freeware alternatives. Scissors is a tool used to cut binary files into desired size. To cut a file give the source and destination files with the required file size. Any extension given to the destination will be omitted and Scissors will generate required extension automatically with respect to the number of output files.
To join these files set any of the fragmented file as input or give filename without extension. Scissors will automatically search and join the files. All files should be in the same directory. The file size fields are ignored in this operation.
